Privacy policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information, in plain English.

Last updated 21 March 2026

This policy explains what personal information Codelytics ("we", "us") collects through this website, why, and what your rights are. We handle personal data in line with UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Who we are

Codelytics designs and builds websites, mobile apps, online stores and search strategy for businesses. You can contact us about anything in this policy using the contact form on this website.

What we collect, and why

  • Contact form, quote requests and package orders: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), the service you are interested in, your budget and your message. We use this to reply to you, prepare quotes and deliver the work you ask for.
  • Call requests: your name, email, phone number (optional), the day and time of day you prefer, your time zone and any notes. We use this to arrange a call and email you the meeting link.
  • Client forms: if we send you a form (for example a website brief), we store the answers you give, so we can do the work you have asked for.
  • Customer records: we keep one record per customer with your contact details and our own notes about our work together.

Our legal bases are: taking steps at your request before entering a contract, performing a contract with you, and our legitimate interests in running and promoting our business and responding to enquiries. We do not use your information for automated decision-making.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We use a small number of service providers to run the website, who only process data on our instructions:

  • Google Firebase (Firestore database and authentication) stores the information you submit.
  • EmailJS sends emails from us to you, such as call confirmations or links to forms.
  • Our website hosting provider serves this website and may log technical data such as IP address.
  • WhatsApp, if you choose to message us there, is governed by its own privacy policy.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where that happens, they use recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an approved adequacy arrangement.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and quotes that do not lead to work for up to 24 months, then delete them. Records for customers we work with are kept for as long as the relationship continues and for 6 years afterwards for accounting and legal reasons. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, unless we need to keep it by law.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes, we will ask for your consent first.

Your rights

You can ask us to: tell you what information we hold about you; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; and give you a copy in a portable format. Send us a message using the contact form on this website and we will reply within one month. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
